Dear Readers,

Cactus Alliance, Arizona's first blog aggregator, has long been known as a pro-life, conservative aggregator. That will change a little today as we will begin to allow all blogs that are right-of-center.

Why the change? We have some great blogs that aren't carried by our national competitor, BlognetNews, but in interesting political times such as these, we feel it would be beneficial to readers if we diversify our content to cover a broader range of political ideas on the right. The pro-life issue is pretty black and white, but policy issue positions run the gamut among bloggers.

It has come to our attention that the poll has been tampered with. Looking at the IP addresses, it seems some have voted multiple times. That's a shame, but reminds me of a story I read my kids from time to time where a girl's father keeps stealing thinking he is getting away with it. After a while, the daughter explains to the father that God sees him, even if no one else does. Then he becomes very ashamed, as he should be.

We've had a few logo changes since our inception. We started with a single cactus, which was nice, but not quite right. Then we moved to the waving flag, which I thought was fitting because it fostered patriotism during an election. The flag, I've been told by web/blog gurus, is just "so 1990s." We couldn't have that. What I had been wanting, and believe I have found, is a logo with a few cacti in it to depict an "alliance." So there you have it.

Cactus Alliance is an aggregator of regional conservative, pro-life blogs that individually confront the erroneous and "forgotten" stories of the main stream media, and have alligned for the sake of greater reach.
